Everyday is such a gift

Everyday is such a gift! Especially, the days that feel like they are not. I remember those 2-3 weeks postpartum. When things begun to feel overwhelming. I kept watching videos that made me feel like I was not doing enough. My task list kept getting longer and longer. It all seemed endless. According to social media, I needed a rocking chair, a dresser, a changing table. I didn’t even have room for one of those things.

See, before my motherhood journey began, our living space was small. Honestly, the struggle was real. But, I always reminded myself that God has always been bigger than our problems. My husband and I can attest to that. During those days we lived comfortable enough for just the two of us. And so, when we found out the Lord blessed us with expansion, we knew it meant it was time to expand our living situation as well.

During my pregnancy, we tried pretty much everything to find an affordable place for us. Which was quite the challenge because affordability is not what it used to be back in the day. It was quite stressful because my due date was fast approaching and we were not having any success. My babies due date was supposed to be December 7th, and he arrived November 27 of 2025. The best Thanksgiving day of my life!

Even though we hadn’t found our new place yet, my husband's family gracefully accepted us in their home until we could. The Lord then blessed us with a wonderful apartment, that had everything we needed, at around 1 month postpartum. Suddenly, all the guilt of the things I didn’t have for my baby fell away. I still don’t have a rocking chair, but it turns out I never needed it. We have a home, we were blessed with all the things on my task list that we actually needed, and I learned once again to never doubt the power of our God.

Verse of the week

Matthew 6:8

“For your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”

Prayer of the day!

Father you are so amazing. My life is complete because I have you in it. I am so grateful to you for the many blessings you have provided for my family and I.

I pray, Lord, that you bless the parents and parents to be out there that feel overwhelmed. I pray you alleviate their loads and clear their minds, so that they may see you holding their struggles in your hands.

Let them know they are never alone. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
